Hi, my boyfriend arrived in Australia on a working visa and landed a job as a trainee Internet Marketer. No training was provided although he was told he would be trained. After a week and 3 days of work, his boss took him outside and verbally abused him for a job not well done and fired him on the spot. He then received a series of threats from the boss accusing my boyfriend of "intentionally" making a mistake on the job. He harassed him for a further 3 days via text, abusing him with all sorts of profanity and called him drunk numerous times one night , again abusing him. Apart from the undeniable harassment, is my boyfriend entitled to his pay? |

Is there a process for electing local branch union delegates? No notification was put out to members that an election was to occur at a meeting being held and we were not given the opportunity to nominate or vote as we were on leave at the time. Only 13 members out of over 50 were present and the whole thing appears to be rigged. |

I am writing on behalf of my son. He has just been dismissed from his job affective immediately because he was going to go for an interview at another establishment. When the boss spoke to him he gave the excuse that my son did not do the things asked such as washing the dishes and washing the dishes, and looking for another job was the last straw as it shows that he was not commited. This establishment has done a number of things in the wrong including a staff member recording a conversation of my son letting off steam and then replaying it to the bosses. I do not feel that this is how it should roll. What should we do? |

If someone got hurt at work which resulted in a bulging disk in my back and sciatica which is a pinched nerve that had me off work for a good 11 months due to pain and rehab could, my work give my position away to someone else in the work place and have me do other duties? Even though I had a verbal agreement with the supervisor that I'd stay doing my nursing on wheels? Once I told her of my concern she said they didn't know when I was coming back therefore gave my position away, when I came back to work all fit for full time duties again she wouldn't give me my position back. . Even though it was an accident that went through compo dont I go back to doing my original normal duties again ? |

Hi I'm a phlebotomist. Ive been working for a big pathology company well recognized all over the world. I've been working with them for 3 years now permanent full time. Just recently, my area supervisor has been favoring a lot of the workers whilst the others like myself are doing the time and picking up the slack. Some workers get paid a full 8 hour shift and only do 5 or 6 hrs. We are entitled to a half an hr lunch break and some people take 2 hrs and when you advise your supervisor she tells you to mind your own business; isn't this wrong? Also, the supervisor has been dealing with these workers on a personal level therefore it interferes her way of being a supervisor. Having said this in the hospital there's a roster made up every week, instead of rotating it around so every one can have a turn especially on weekends is this allowed, or is she supposed to be giving everyone a turn ? Especially those weekends so every one can have a turn in claiming penalty rates? |
