I am full time worker for 4 year . At this moment the company that I work ask the staff to work 4 days but we will get pay 5 days using our holiday entitlement . Is it fair enough? Because I have families that sometimes I have to look after when they sick by using my entitlement.

I have worked for several years for an employer who often requires me to travel. Normally I put a claim in and it's fine. Now they say they will not pay some of it as they don't think it's business relative, even though I have 8yrs of precendence of claims just like it. Then he published a new claim guideline and told me it was retrospective, so reduced my claim payout. Surely this cannot be legal to move the goal posts after you've spent the funds??? |

I have worked a company now for more then a year. I was promoted to shift running duties in march this year. I have had multiple pay issues and this new one is just about all i can take!! in this job im hired as a casual. I have 2 pay rates for the two different duties i perform. both of them have changed and both have decreased!! im 18 yrs old and am earning as little as 10.59 an hour (10.59 is what shows on pay slips, and no casual loading is paid extra. So apparently 10.59 is including the 23% loading?? or they just arent paying it?) PLEASE HELP!!! |

I am currently employed fulltime on a salary for 40 hours week. My company contracts me out to a coal mine and the role I fill is for 45 hours per week, which i feel is reasonable overtime. I am also required to be on call 24/7 when I am not at work. My boss refuses to pay overtime for me even though the mine I am contracted to pays for the "callouts" over weekends and after hours to the company I am employed. I have an agreement to get 'time in lieu' for call outs but my boss will only give me an hour for an hour no matter the time or day that it occurs. What are my rights in regards to this situation? Should I be compensated for being on call 24/7? Am I entitled to have any 'time in lieu' equal to the overtime equivalent? e.g 1 hour callout equal to 1.5hr time in lieu.
Note: The previous person who's role I took was on wages and was paid for all overtime. |

| Rain days |

As a full time employee (as is reflected on payslips), is a trade employee entitled to pay for days that are cancelled due to weather? I understand this is likely to vary somewhat based on contract, however upon employment no contract was provided. Is there an award or similar that must be in place? And is my employer obligated to inform employees what award we are under?
I am concerned as work is slowing, majority of casual staff layed off, and I know of other employees who have been layed off after pushing issues such as pay and querying their rights.
I'm just trying to get a better understanding of what my entitlements are - a weeks rain means no income, and in Melbourne that could mean a very broke winter. Surely as full time I have entitlements? |
