I am a casual worker in a retail shop and have been employed for about a year and a half.
The shop mainly employs casuals.
Recently my hours have been reduced and given to a new employee who was transferred in from another branch.
Can they do this?
Also I am being talked about behind my back by my boss who is telling other employees negative things about me.
Is this allowed? |

I have just been sponsored to stay in Australia after working in a company for 6 months and impressing. I am now about to sign a full time contract but my boss has told me i will not be entitled to any holiday pay, or sick days pay in my first 12 months of employment, not including the 6 ive already done without holiday pay. He says this is normal for all peoples first year of work in Australia.
Is this correct? I would love to know before i sign a contract. |

A place which i will be be working onsite, has asked for all my super details including a copy of my last statement.
I dont think this would at all be legal since it really is none of their business.
They are also asking the same for redundancy and long service leave. Is that legal too.
They are real bullies about it too. My Contract says nothing about LSL or redundancy and after i spoke to FWA and FWC they said the award i would be on means it is not applicable anyway.
What should i do.... |

I am a permenant employee at a small cub, the board is thinking about changing the opening hours. This means that I will have to work up to 11 hrs on 1 day, 10 on another day & 8 on a 3rd. all without a break as these day are the total of the new opening hrs of the club, I will have to work every weekend. I have tried to explain that these hours are to long without a breat & unfair to me as a person to have to work every weedend, I do have a social life, now I am thinking it might be better for me to just resign. I have been the manager there for neally 3 yrs. I dont think this is fair. |

i am full time on probation, this is my 7th week, i never signed any contract or give manual book. My boss been withholding my pay for 2 days and maybe more as next pay day is Tuesday next week. They are doing it under impression that I was about to leave without notice. He require me to get a dr's certificate and to call him everyday while I am being away. I called back and can provide doctor's certificate. In this situation I am worried if I come back and work they will not pay me fully/ do everything to retain me there. Do I just let go my pay and start finding a new job? Or continue working until I get my pay? Which is quite risky since I know they will do things to retain me, they have relatively high labour turnover as well. What should I do now? Thank you. |

I was accepted as a casual employee at McDonalds in October last year, but I still haven't been rostered. Although I have called them two or three times asking to be rostered, they say they will get back to me but never do. Is this even allowed? |

A colleague called my boyfriend while she was at work and told him I was seeing a tradesman working at workplace. She was forced to resign as a result. Then my boss told me I had to attend a meeting with the tradesmans boss to discuss the incident even though I said I prefer not to as I was uncomfortable and embarrassed by the whole thing. He then emailed me saying I had to attend the meeting and stared going on about how it has affected him and the business, he was completely implying that I had brought the issue on myself!!! Can I do anything about this??.?.?. |

I have a friend that works at a furniture manufacturing business. He started last august on a 3 month trial, and was told that after that he would be permanent. That still hasnt happened. What the problem is that his employer just phones him and tells him he doesnt need him to work, and this happens on a regular basis (as in weeks. What can he do? |
