My husband worked as a casual worker at a supermarket for 2 years. In May 2008, he was sacked for 'allegedly' harrassing a female employee. The Manager did not bother investigating the matter and my husband was suspended without pay and then sacked for something that never happened. My husband had a hearing with the AIRC and was not happy with the outcome, but the commissioner did not advise my husband that he could appeal! The company's lawyer admitted that staff did not witness any harrassment by my husband and nothing happened. We had a lawyer but he has since said that my husband would only be entitled to $19 compensation for being falsely accused and sacked for nothing! Where is the justice for casual workers? |

Listen to the Whining Bastards !!!!!Abolish Unions ,and see how long it is before their children are down the mines again, and all workers are ground into the dirt .Within 5 minutes workers rights would be abolished . If you don't want a Union ,Don,t claim that which the Unions have fought for .Absolutely nothing has ever been given to the worker willingly, and without a fight since 1833 , The Tolpuddle Martyrs ,Long Live Unions as without them we are nothing |

My wife has been working for the last year where she signed a contract and was on a salary of $25k for the first 6 months and is now being paid $27500 per year. As far as I can tell this is below the minimum for someone over 21 years of age. Can you please advise what course of action we should take in the matter? Thanks. |

Hi my fiancé works for a small company who have never paid him properly missing a week here or there and catching up later on. But this year is worse they have been missing two or three and now it's up to month. The boss keeps having calls from debt collectors so we Think they will go bust soon. Wat can we do to get some money now?

I'm a Marketing Manager who has just been made redundant and I received some advice from a friend to join a union as they may be able to assist with unfair dismissal issues. I'm in QLD. What unions are available for me to join?

At what is described as a 'fact finding investigation' where an external 'investigator' appointed by HR which seems to have changed over time into a quasi disciplinary hearing 'defendant' was advised that he could have a 'friend' with him but it was specifically stated that this 'friend' must not be 'legally trained'-investigators words exactly. the investigator seems to now be acting as decision maker as to voracity of findings/guilt or otherwise. any experiences and advice most gratefully received. defender recently suffered heart attack due to the stress of two years of not knowing what allegations in fact were, who made them and what stage he was at in the process., if it can be called that.
