Hi
I had to use up my sick days last year for myself and to care for my son off and on as we both had suspected swine flu and re-occurring bouts of the flu. In January this year - without any warning or discussion, I was told that I now have to produce a medical certificate even for one day that I take off for sick leave. Not only that, without this, they will dock my pay and said that this rule will apply until December 2010. Is this fair and what are my rights?
thank you
Sherry

I have resigned and have my required notice. Today I am unwell and have gone on sick leave. Due to continuous bad behaviour by my boss I know that he will try to question me over this leave. Can he legally do this?

Not sure what union I should be in as a apprentice cabinet maker in victoria. I have been unfairly treated at my current employer and have recieved not much help from my current Group training organisation. I have found my own replacement employer under an new group training organisation and I don't want this to happen to me again. What union should I join.

I recently commenced employment with a retailer and they have informed me the probation period is 6 months. Is this reasonable? I thought it should be 3 months. Also, I have been told I am under a workplace agreement but I haven't sighted it or signed anything. Should they have provided this?

The company I work for has a staff meeting every 2nd Thursday. Originally it commenced 30 mins before my usual starting time. They now want to move the meeting to 90 mins prior to my starting time but not offering any compensation or time off in lieu. I am a salaried employee (admin manager). My question is basically - is this "legal"

I work in a group home with clients who have physical and intellectual disabilities. Staff are regularly assaulted by the clients, however once the matter is reported to the police no further action is taken, and the assaultive and violent behaviours continue. What rights do staff have in relation to this matter?.
